Oil company Hyperdynamics has reshuffled its senior management ahead of the planned spud of the Fatala prospect in Guinea.
The company’s chief financial officer Sergey Alekseev is to transition to the position of Hyperdynamics’ subsidiary SCS Corporation Ltd.
Hyperdynamics president Ray Leonard said: “Sergey has done an outstanding job in negotiating and completing the farmout of a 50% working interest in our Guinea deepwater exploration project and raising capital to begin mobilization and subsequent drilling operations.”
“With his extensive experience in international oil and gas operations and finance, we will now look to him to manage all the various aspects of this project, as well as continuing to seek capital to fund SCS’s share of PSC expenditures.
“Working together with Vice President of Operations Forrest Estep and Drilling Manager Randy Ditmore, with their extensive West Africa and deepwater drilling experience, I am confident that the upcoming drilling program will successfully test the high-potential Fatala prospect.”
Mr Alekseev has been brought in to manage the company’s interaction with its 50% partner SAPETRO and to co-ordinate with Guinea’s Office National du Petrole (ONAP).
He will also be responsible for overseeing contractors’ performance to ensure the project progresses on time.
Jason Davis will also rejoin the company as interim chief financial officer.
