Amec Foster Wheeler has opted to keep its European nuclear business.
The engineering firm announced in March that it had launched a competitive process to sell its atomic arm.
The company said this process created a “high level of interest” and yielded a number of “attractive bids”.
But Amec FW, which is merging with service giant Wood Group, has now decided to retain the European nuclear business.
Only the US part of the business will now be disposed of.
In the full year results for 2016, the North American nuclear operations contributed revenue of £83m and trading profit of £1m.
Completion of the US disposal is expected later this year.
