Rotech Subsea is increasingly active in Asia, the Americas and other parts of the world to meet growing global demand for its cutting-edge trenching, excavation and cable grab tools.
Stephen Sin, Aberdeen-based Rotech’s Asia team leader, is focused on new business in Myanmar after the offshore technology company was asked at short notice to support critical export pipeline work with its TRS2 controlled flow excavation system.
The deal with local contractor Path Finder is on behalf of state-run Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise (Moge), and sees a Rotech team and the technology being shipped to the Yangon field.
Rotech subsea director Stephen Cochrane, said: “We have made the commitment of employing Stephen Sin to meet the demand of project work in Asia.
“Stephen brings decades of offshore project experience and knows the region, and will head up the valued Moge campaign.
“As has happened in Europe, Rotech Subsea has subsequently received numerous inquiries from prospective clients about mobilising the TRS2.
“We have consequently made the decision that the tool will remain in-country to meet rising demand.”
Rotech has also recently established a new trading division in Ciudad de Carmen, Mexico.
Building on a 15-year track record in the region, Rotech will be servicing the Mexican market with its latest RS subsea excavation equipment.
