Valiant Petroleum said today it has taken on former BP executive and Silverstone Energy co-founder Stephen Horton.
Mr Horton, 58, will become an independent non-executive director on Valiant’s board alongside another new appointment, Philip Vingoe, 66.
Mr Horton worked at BP for 27 years, holding executive roles including worldwide director of drilling, as well as helping found Silverstone – now part of Bridge Energy.
Mr Vingoe has worked in the oil and gas industry for nearly 40 years, including at BP, Novus Petroleum, Sasol Petroleum and Pan-Petroleum, which he co-founded.
Valiant’s chairman Kevin Lyon said: “We are extremely pleased to welcome Steve Horton and Phil Vingoe to Valiant’s board.
“Both Steve and Phil bring substantial industry and board level experience. Valiant’s board will benefit from their combined technical expertise and extensive experience in the independent exploration and production space.”
Valiant Petroleum, an independent oil and gas firm, was formed in 2004 and has assets in the UK North Sea, Norway and Faroe Islands.
It is listed on the AIM market and headquartered in Woking.
