BG Group says it has completed the £270million sale of its majority stage in India’s largest private natural gas distributor.
The gas giant had held a 65.12% holding in Gujarat Gas, before announcing in October last year it would be selling to a subsidiary of Gujurat State Petroleum Company.
The transaction, part of a rationalisation programme as the company refocuses on exploration and production, has been completed after BG Group and GSPC received final approval from India’s competition commission and Reserve Bank.
