Two directors of beleaguered Norwegian oil group Noreco have resigned from the company’s board ahead of the company’s half-year results.
Erik Henriksen and Marika Svärdström, who were representatives for Sabaro Investments, gave their notice last night.
The company said it was holding talks with the nominations committee to decide whether to call a general meeting in order to appoint potential replacements.
It represents another blow to Noreco, which has been beset by problems in recent times.
Over the summer every field it had a stake in was shut in at the same time, leaving it with no produced oil.
The Huntington field resumed limited production this week, but the company still faces problems on its Oselvar, Enoch, Nini, Nini East, Cecilie and Lulita fields.
Noreco has also struggled to make new discoveries, after 19 exploration wells it has partnered into have came up dry or non-commercial.
Shares in the company, which is due to present its second quarter results next Thursday, have fallen more than 90% since 2008.
