Former Evode managing director Andrew Simon is to join Gulf Keystone as a director, as the fallout from the summer boardroom battle continues.
Simon’s appointment was announced as the company confirmed the appointment of former deputy chairman Jeremy Asher among the other non-executive directors.
Asher, along with Thomas Shull, John Bell and Philip Dimmock were named directors earlier this summer after a row between Gulf Keystone’s board and investment group M&G.
M&G had threatened to block the election of former Glencore chief Simon Murray as chairman of the Kurdistan-focused exploration firm ahead of their full stock market listing later this year.
“We are pleased to welcome our five new Non-Executive Directors to the Board,” said Murray.
“We are firmly focused on completing the move from AIM to the standard segment of the official list before the year end.
“I have great confidence in the ability of this enlarged, balanced and united board to complete this move and to continue developing the company in the interests of all our shareholders.”
The company said it was looking to appoint one more director to the board, with announcement to be made in due course.
