Energy giant E.On has snapped up efficiency services firm Matrix.
The Manchester-based firm, which employs around 340 staff in the UK and operates its remote energy management base from Glasgow
The deal will expand the energy firm’s new efficiency unit for the B2B sector.
“This is an important and exciting agreement as it brings together two companies and two teams of people which have great experience in helping their customers,” said E.ON UK chief executive Tony Cocker.
“As can be seen by looking at any part of our operations in the UK, delivering excellence and helping our customers are absolutely central to what we do. This acquisition completely fits with that.”
Matrix has 31,000 data connections in 22 countries around the world, remotely operating energy management systems for buildings and corporate clients.
“E.ON has the international presence as well as the breadth and depth of energy technology expertise that will allow us to move from a leading national player to a leading global player in the B2B energy efficiency space,” said Matrix chief executive Ian Kelly.
