French oil services group Technip has landed two contracts with Petrobas for ultra-deep water field work offshore Brazil.
The firm has been awarded contracts for the supply of flexible pipes at the Sapinhoa Norte field and I5 at Lula field, previously known as the Tupi field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt area offshore Brazil.
Technip will supply around 100kilometres of flexible pipes for oil production, gas lift and gas injection.
The contract also includes supply of related equipment for the pre-salt area, to be installed on the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) units – Cidade de Angra dos Reis and Cidade de Ilhabela.
The gas injection top risers will be developed by Technip’s R&D team in France, and manufactured at Technip’s new flexible pipe manufacturing plant in Brazil. The firm’s operating centre in Rio de Janeiro will perform the engineering and project management.
