North Sea oil firm Apache has had “serious discussions” with potential buyers, its boss said yesterday.
The revelation by chief executive Steve Farris came as the US company hosted an “investor day” in Houston, Texas.
Apache, which recently moved all 460 of its north-east employees into a new building, Caledonia House, at the Prime Four business park at Kingswells, Aberdeen, also said it expected to spend £5.1billion on exploration and production this year.
Last year, with a bigger asset base, Apache spent about £6billion.
