UK-shale gas developer IGas has appointed Julian Tedder as chief financial officer and board director.
A chartered accountant, Tedder, 46, has 15 years’ senior management experience both at operational and group level within the international oil and gas sector, including Centrica plc and Tullow Oil plc.
IGas chairman Francis Gugen, said: “Julian’s wealth of experience in the sector, most recently at Tullow Oil where he was part of the team that grew the business from being an explorer to a significant international oil and gas company, will complement IGas’ existing leadership very well. ”
Speaking ahead of today’s AGM, Gugen added the is progressing its five-year shale development plan and moving ahead a planning application for two wells at the Springs Road site in the East Midlands.
Across the Pennines, in the North West, IGas is undertaking a 3D seismic survey that will provide essential data to further inform near-term site selection.
The company last week was offered six new licences, covering seven blocks, in the first group of licences awarded in the UK’s 14th Onshore Oil and Gas licensing round.
These licences, some with existing partners Total and Egdon, are in the East Midlands and South Yorkshire and include exploration prospects for both shale gas and conventional oil and gas, close to existing operations.
IGas has also applied for a number of additional licences which are expected to be made later this year, after the conclusion of a consultation under the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2010.
