Gulf Keystone is to hold a special meeting next month which aims lift current rules that restrict the company to appointing UK-based directors only.
The board wishes to remove these restrictions in order to appoint suitably qualified and experienced persons to the board, regardless of whether they are UK residents or not, and to remove the restrictions on the ability of the board to conduct meetings.
Gulf Keystone operates the world-class Shaikan field in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
Last month the company said it plans to move into the large-scale phased development of the Shaikan field targeting 100,000 bopd of production capacity during Phase 1 of the Shaikan Field Development Plan.
The special meeting will take place in Brussels on December 8.
