Oil major Chevron could reduce its headcount in the Gulf of Mexico by up to 385 positions.
According to reports, 45 of the roles would be offshore staff, which the remainder would be in its offices in the Louisiana region of Covington and Lafayette.
In a filing with the Louisiana Workforce Commission earlier this month, Chevron said the consultation period will begin in April and be completed by June.
Workers could be offered transitional jobs, while Chevron also plans to help affected employees find jobs in other locations.
In December, Chevron confirmed it had completed a jobs consultation process which would see a reduction of 140 positions from its North Sea operations.
Chevron had previously said it would be reducing its spending by around 24%.
