IKM Testing said it plans to reduce its headcount by between 30 to 50 employees.
The company said staff had been notified of the move this week with negotiations continuing to make sure the number is at the lower end of the spectrum.
According to reports in Norwegian media, the company has around 520 employees.
It is understood expertise will play a role in assessing which jobs will be lost.
Earlier this week, Transocean said it would be making more than 200 redundancies in Norway.
