Authorities have stopped a sweeping search for 18 oil workers who disappeared from an oil platform in the Caspian Sea.
Azerbaijan’s emergency situations ministry has scaled back its efforts to find the workers missing since the Platform No 10 on the Guneshli field caught fire on December 4.
Deputy minister Faig Tagizade, said: “There is no wide search at the moment”.
He added that the ministry was still monitoring the issue.
Platform No 10 caught fire after a gas pipeline had broken down.
Bad weather hindered the arrival of rescue ships. Thirty-three people were saved.
Twelve bodies have been found, some of them in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.
