V.Group today confirmed it had snapped-up Bibby Ship Management – a subsidiary of Bibby Line Group.
It’s latest in a string of deals to unfold this week, including a re-launch of First Group Expro and a slice of Statoil’s Marnier project being sold-off.
A joint statement said: “This acquisition gives the combined customer base access to the most extensive management capabilities across all sectors, at a crucial time when ship owners and operators are facing unprecedented challenges and are exploring strategic options for the management of their fleets.”
Bibby Ship Management has more than 300 employees, including teams based in the UK.
It’s unclear how the deal will affect jobs.
A joint steering group has since been established to identify synergies across the two businesses.
