Wood Group (WG) has made the latest in a string of acquisitions after snapping up Ingenious.
The company said the acquisition provides a strong manufacturing operations management (MOM) systems capability, which will build upon and diversifies the capabilities of Wood Group Mustang’s automation and control business.
It comes after the company completed the takeover of Australia-based SVT Engineering Consultants.
The move was made in a bid to strengthen the firm’s vibration, dynamics and noise engineering service.
WG said it will be able to leverage Ingenious’s strength in the operator training simulator market to enhance its control system simulators, training tools and services.
Michele McNichol, chief executive of Wood Group Mustang, said:“The capabilities Ingenious provides will enhance the scale and breadth of our automation and control business.
“Wood Group Mustang has been a client and reseller of Ingenious’s products. Together, we can pursue projects that neither could explore independently.”
The service firm also recently acquired US-based Kelchner Inc. Kelchner posted a sales book of $93million. Read more here.
