Oilex said it has started gas production from the Bhandut field onshore India.
The company said the Bhandut-3 well is currently flowing at a stabilised rate with gas being processed at the on-site production facilities.
It is then delivered to a third party operated gas processing plant, where it is treated and compressed for entry into the high pressure gas network for delivery to its end user.
Oilex is the operator in the field with a 40% stake, while Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) holding the remaining equity interest.
The Bhandut-3 well is producing from a previous undeveloped sandstone at a depth of 1010m at virgin reservoir pressure.
The zone was flow tested by Oilex and the joint venture three years ago confirmed good reservoir quality.
