This year the Gold Awards in association with Aberdeen Asset Management presents eight awards categories. These are:
Large Company of the Year (more than 200 employees): The Gold Awards recognise resilience in both peaks in troughs. This award recognises the best large company, its commitment to people, its culture, the North Sea and the Aberdeen community.
Small Company of the Year (less than 200 employees): As above, this award recognises the best small company, its commitment to people, its culture, the North Sea and the Aberdeen community.
Best Employer: A company’s best asset is its people. This category recognises the firm that best demonstrates its commitment to its people and dedication to creating a standout company culture. It’s open to companies of all shapes and sizes.
Entrepreneur: The importance of entrepreneurship as a leading source of innovation, job creation and global economic growth is clear. By challenging orthodox methods and creating new markets, high-growth entrepreneurs are positively disrupting the way we do business and enhancing our quality of life. This Gold Award will be presented to an entrepreneur who has not necessarily created something brand new, but who has thought outside of the box to diversify a business or product to new markets for long term sustainability.
Innovation Award: Technology has helped the North bust through barriers and position itself as a global pioneer. The winning entrant will demonstrate the step-change their technology provides.
Emerging Industry Leader: As the North Sea embarks on its next chapter it will need young energy leaders to pave the way forward. This award is open to outstanding young energy leaders, who deserve to be recognised for their appetite for continued learning, mentoring and influence. Applicants must be 35-years-old or younger on the closing date of the award application.
New Energy Award: As well as oil and gas, Aberdeen is also a thriving hub for renewable firms. The Gold Awards is proud to introduce a category dedicated to recognising renewable achievements. This category looks to recognise the best project or innovation from the sector, including offshore and onshore wind, wave, tidal and solar.
Hall of Fame: To be chosen by judges
