Diversified manufacturing giant Emerson said yesterday it had won a new five-year contract to provide metering management services to oil and gas operator Nexen UK in the North Sea.
The work will be managed from US-based Emerson’s new solutions centre in Aberdeen.
Emerson, which has its headquarters in Missouri, will provide onshore metering engineers and offshore technicians for UK offshore facilities including the Golden Eagle and giant Buzzard developments.
The contract gives the firm responsibility for validating and reporting measurement data, metering, sampling, analytical and test equipment and support for offshore metering maintenance and verification activities.
Roel van Doren, president of Emerson Process Management Europe (EPM), said: “For oil and gas companies, the accuracy and integrity of their of their fiscal and custody transfer metering systemsmetering systems are critical for customer confidence.
“This contract builds on our proven success in helping companies achieve those objectives, while also continually reducing their metering costs.”
Emerson, which employs more than 110,000 people globally, celebrated the official opening of its £20million solutions centre in the D2 business park in Dyce, Aberdeen, earlier this year.
It is one of a string of such centres that group subsidiary EPM is opening around the world to provide local support, training, and services for customers.
