Sound Energy said it has begun drilling of a second well at Tendara, onshore Morocco.
The move comes after the recent success of its first Tendara well.
The company says well TE-7 includes proving sufficient gas volumes and well deliverability to enable finalisation of the field development plan and a concession application and demonstrating the benefits of sub-horizontal drilling.
The TE-7 site is located close to the other exploration well.
Drilling and logging is expected to take around 54 days, while completion and stimulation and the clean-up and initial well testing will take an estimated 40 days collectively.
