Argentina is thought to have cancelled a shipment of LNG and delayed three others due to a mild end to winter.
Argentina, which is South America’s biggest LNG importer, cut numerous deals at the start of winter, taking advantages of low prices brought on by a supply glut, a news report said.
But the upturn in temperatures means Buenos Aires has ordered far more than it needs and is looking to backtrack.
The country could face hefty penalties of up to $5million for cancelling shipments, Reuters reported, citing unidentified trading sources.
