Gazprom’s chairman met with Slavenko Terzic, a Serbian ambassador, to discuss possible partnerships.
Chairman Alexey Miller discussed “bilateral cooperation in the gas sector, focusing, among other things, on the Banatski Dvor UGS facility, one of the largest such facilities in southeastern Europe”.
The gas giant is currently preparing the facility for the winger period with gas injections being delivered to schedule.
In 2013, 10 year contract signaled the way for Russian gas supply to Serbia.
In 2015, Gazprom delivered 1.7 billion cubic meters of gas to Serbia – 23.6% increase year-on-year.
Serbia’s Banatski Dvor UGS facility, which Gazprom has 51% stake in, plays an important role in providing gas supplies throughout southeastern Europe. With a working gas capacity of 450 million cubic meters, the facility has a maximum gas deliverability of 5 million cubic meters per day.
The pair also discussed the prospects for cooperation in oil refining, power generation, use of gas as a vehicle fuel and small-scale LNG supplies.
