BP faces further delay on its plans to drill in the Great Australian Bight.
The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) has said it will take a further 10 days to assess BP’s plans to drill in the region.
It means the assessment of the oil major’s plan will now not be completed until the end of this month.
BP’s environmental plan has twice been knocked back by NOPSEMA.
Concern has been raised on the environmental impact of marine life in the region if an oil spill was to occur.
