Siemens Subsea will make job losses from its premises in the UK and Norway.
A total of 60 jobs are expected to go in Britain – including six in Aberdeen – while the remaining positions will be taken from a factory in Ulverston in north west England.
Meanwhile, 95 roles will be cut across the firm’s operations in Norway.
The company reportedly told staff of the decision at a town hall style meeting earlier this week.
A spokesman said the decision had been a “difficult one” amid continued tough market conditions.
A statement from Siemens said: “Due to the continued difficult market conditions, driven by the low oil price and lower than expected customer orders, a global restructure of the Siemens Subsea business is being proposed.
“This would result in a smaller, more efficient organisation, which is appropriately sized for the current market situation.”
