About 30 catering and cleaning staff are expected to lose their jobs at Sodexo in Norway, a news report said.
The redundancies are expect to come once Statoil’s contract for the West Elara rig, owned by Seadrill, expires in March, according to Norwegian news website Aftenblad.
The company has already laid off 450 employees during the oil price downturn of the last two years, the report said.
Sodexo chief executive Jan Øyvind Jørgensen was quoted as saying: “I hope that we have reached the bottom now, but there is still some uncertainty in the market.”
