IKM Group has secured a support contract with Subsea 7 for the development of the Culzean field.
Maersk Oil was given approval in 2015 to develop the high pressure, high temperature gas field – the largest discovered in the UK North Sea in a decade.
It is expected to produce enough gas to meet 5% of total UK demand when production peaks in 2020/21.
Subsea 7 won the award to provide subsea, umbilical, riser and flowline (SURF) operations.
The firm will make and install underwater equipment for the field development.
IKM will provide pre-commissioning services to the subsea project.
IKM said: “This is a sizeable pre-commissioning SURF project and a significant win for IKM in an extremely competitive environment.”
Engineering works have already commenced for the Culzean project.
The first phase of offshore operations is due to commence in Q2, 2017.
