Statoil has been granted permission to build a new office at its Kårstø gas and condensate processing facility.
The Petroleum Safety Authority has given consent for a new single storey modular office space at the site.
It will contain a cloakroom, WC, IT room, dining room, meeting room and office modules. The building will replace an older office module dating from the 1990s.
Located at Tysvær in Rogaland county, the Kårstø plant receives gas by pipeline from the North Sea and Norwegian Sea.
After the wet gas products have been separated out, the dry gas is piped to Germany, while the wet gas products are transported from the facility by ship.
Building work will be carried out by Eide Bygg & Anlegg AS of Haugesund.
