KCA Deutag has secured 300 jobs after winning a contract extension for work offshore Russia.
KCA Deutag, which has a base in Aberdeen, said it would carry out platform drilling services on three rigs off Sakhalin Island.
The company said about 80% of the people it employs on the island are Russian.
The four year contract runs through to May 31, 2021, and was awarded by the Sakhalin Energy Investment Company.
KCA Deutag has been contracted with Sakhalin Energy since 2003.
Terje Løvereide, KCA Deutag country manager in Sakhalin, said: “This is great news for the company and the operation locally. It has been achieved thanks to the dedicated efforts of a highly professional team delivering quality performance both on and offshore.”
