Sound Energy has completed a third onshore well at its Tendara licence onshore Morocco.
The well reached its final target measured depth (MD) of 3,120m some 359 metres into the Paleozoic formation.
The drilling revealed further gas shows, according to the firm. However, Sound remained reserved about the find, stressing ” logging has not yet occurred and that gas shows, although a positive initial indication, should not be considered conclusive without further wireline logging and analysis.”
The work will now be carried out, after which the results of the well will be announced.
The African and European focused upstream gas company previously announced the presence of a TAGI sand sequence commencing at an MD of 2,643 metres and that gas shows had been observed.
The firm will now carry out further wireline logging and analysis to get a full data picture.
