Nigeria focused E&P investor Sirius Petroleum has contracted Polaris to carry out seabed survey work at the Ororo field.
The marine vessel that will carry out the survey is expected to arrive on site in early April, with a two week window scheduled to complete the work.
The crew will carry out a geophysical and geotechnical marine survey, ahead of possible rig mobilisation.
It is hoped that the survey will provide data and analysis for the rig positioning prior to drilling and assess any marine geohazards to ensure safe operations and transportation of equipment.
Bobo Kuti, chief exectuive of Sirius, said: “We are pleased to have signed this contract with Polaris and look forward to receiving the results of the seabed survey in due course.
“This is another important step forward and when completed will allow the Jack-up rig to be mobilised to site.”
