Energy giant Royal Dutch Shell has hired one of the world’s biggest names in social video sharing to engage more of an audience for its YouTube channel.
Since joining up on the video uploading platform the supermajor has attracted 60,388 subscribers and more than 124million views of its shared content.
But the Anglo-Dutch multinational has now hired Brave Bison to “maximise engagement.
Brave, who have offices around the world, claim to be the “largest multi-platform video network in the world outside of North America”.
In a statement the the independent digital media and social video broadcaster said it had been hired after a competitive pitch to evolve the oil company’s YouTube strategy and channel management.
According to the statement, Brave Bison is the first company Shell has hired to work directly on the strategic positioning and management of its YouTube content.
Kevin Deeley, chief operating officer of Brave Bison, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Shell on what is a really exciting project. The goal is to create a ‘go to’ platform for all things energy related that not only provides content and information that is compelling and relevant, but better reflects what Shell stands for.”
