Shell hired about 800 graduates worldwide last year, with two-fifths coming from universities outside Europe and the Americas, the firm said.
In its 2016 sustainability report, Shell said it employed 92,000 people on average in more than 70 companies.
During the 12 months, the firm also recruited 800 “experienced professionals” and 2,800 people in Shell Business Operations.
The report also said three-quarters of BG Group employees had been transferred to a role in Shell following the takeover.
In the 205 report, Shell said it had 93,000 staff members on its books and recruited 1,000 graduates.
