Australian oil firm 88 Energy has confirmed drilling of its Icewine asset in Alaska is on schedule.
Perth-based 88 Energy, which owns 77.5% of Icewine, said following the spud of well last month, the Arctic Fox drilling rig has completed drilling the surface hole.
It reached a depth of 2,978 feet by 8:30pm on April 27 (AK time).
88 Energy said surface casing has subsequently been cemented and a statutory test of the blow out preventer has been completed.
Drilling is now underway in the intermediate hole section, which extends from 3,000 to 10,710 feet.
Production testing remains on schedule for late June / early July.
