North-east oil and gas service companies have made it onto a UK leaderboard of the fastest growing small- to medium-sized companies.
Balmoral Group, Blaze Manufacturing, Petrotechnics and Frontier International all feature in the London Stock Exchange Group’s 1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain report.
North Atlantic Drilling, a Seadrill subsidiary with a base in the Granite City, also made the grade, as did JKR Contractors, an Ellon-based civil engineer whose services include wind farm construction.
Overall, 41 Scottish companies were included on the list, of which 13 are based in Aberdeen.
Scottish companies continued to be the fastest growing with 91% annual average revenue growth.
Greg Clark, UK Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, said congratulated the companies featured in the report.
Mr Clark said: “Championing high growth innovative SMEs is crucial for the continued success of the UK economy and a country that works for everyone.
“We are committed to ensuring that companies of all sizes can access finance to grow, scale-up and create high quality well-paid jobs across the country.”
