Lukoil has completed the construction and commissioning of the fifth production well at its Vladimir Filanovsky field in the Caspian Sea – which could increase production by five million tonnes per year.
The well has a bilateral horizontal design and it increased the field’s daily production by over 14 thousand tons of oil yesterday.
The firm has also started work on the construction of the sixth well to be used for water injection.
The construction of facilities under the company’s phase two development plan is also being carried out.
The topside of the offshore ice-resistant fixed platform (IRP2) was installed on the substructure, and the next step will see the transportation of the living quarters platform’s topside from the shore to the field.
