Jurong Shipyard has agreed to put back the delivery of a new rig to Seadrill-subsidiary North Atlantic Drilling to January 2018.
Struggling North Atlantic said the extension would enable the companies to explore more “commercial opportunities” for the West Rigel semi-submersible.
If they cannot find another buyer, the two firms will form a holding company for joint ownership of the unit, to be owned 23% by North Atlantic and 77% by Jurong.
