Lerwick Port Authority has published a video showing the Buchan Alpha platform being towed in the harbour.
The 12,000tonne, converted semi-submersible floating drilling rig will be scrapped in Shetland at the Dales Voe base by Veolia and Peterson.
It was brought into Lerwick harbour last weekend.
Bill Dunnett, managing director for Buchan field operator Repsol Sinopec Resources UK, said last year that it had made a “huge contribution” to the UK economy, producing over three times the volume of oil originally predicted. He added: “We are pleased the decommissioning phase will create further sustained value for the UK supply chain and additional employment for Shetland.”
