These stunning images of oil rigs taken from the depths were captured by a Mexican social anthropologist and photographer.
The photographs were taken as part of his “underwater realm” series, looking at life under the sea.
He traveled to the Gulf of Mexico to highlight the environmental impact of the oil and gas industry.
Writing on his website, he said: “The irony is that some of those man made oil drilling platforms have become islands of life in the form of vertical reefs where coral, sponges, fishes of all sizes and dolphins feed.”
