International operators cut 21 rigs this week, according to the Baker Hughes rig count.
The total stood 931 active rigs worldwide last night.
US rig count also slide, down 11 week on week to 898.
However the US figure is still high compared to this time last year – up by 329.
Canada added one rig to bring the weekly total to 192.
Brent crude was up 1.22% to $61.36, while WTI was up 0.94% at $55.05.
Opec basket was also up 1.65% at $59.23.
