Two industry bodies have formed an alliance to help their members meet the challenges of offshore decommissioning.
Decom North Sea (DNS) and the Society for Underwater Technology (SUT) will reveal further details of the pact at the Offshore Decommissioning Conference in St Andrews this week.
SUT chief executive Steve Hall said both organisations covered a lot of the “same ground” and that there was a “lot of sense” to signing up to a strategic partnership.
Mr Hall said the two organisations were not merging, but would support each other on issues related to decommissioning and salvage.
He said they would try to publicise each other’s events and be aware of one another’s activities to prevent members missing out on opportunities.
Furthermore, DNS will have a representative on SUT’s board, and vice versa.
