At least four jobs are to be created at the former 60 North Recycling site at Lerwick’s Rova Head after it opened for business again this week.
The Shetland facility was taken over by Aberdeen-based scrap metal specialist John Lawrie Group in December.
It has been closed since then to allow its new owners to carry out site clearance and repairs.
Operations director Dave Weston said the firm, which aims to become involved in North Sea decommissioning, had recruited a local manager to run the site and would take on more workers this month.
