ABERDEEN-BASED Industry Technology Facilitator (ITF) is hosting two technology challenge workshops in Amsterdam this week.
The events will involve discussions of technology issues around tight and shale gas and coal-bed methane, and enhanced oil recovery.
The gatherings, tomorrow and Thursday, are the first of ITF’s 2010 programme of workshops in locations around the globe.
ITF said this reflected its growing international membership and continued commitment to addressing the technology challenges experienced by the global oil and gas industry.
ITF managing director Neil Poxon said: “As the technology challenges set out by our members have global implications it is important that we continue to engage with developers, operators, major service companies and experts at international venues around the world.
“We will be taking our technology challenge workshops to many of the major oil and gas hubs around Europe, the US and the Middle East.”
Owned by 23 major energy operators and service companies, ITF is a champion for technology development.
The not-for-profit organisation works with developers and its members to identify exploration and production technology needs.
