MAERSK Training UK, part of the AP Moller-Maersk Group, has invested nearly £750,000 on a new training centre at Portlethen, near Aberdeen.
It is said to provide a comprehensive range of offshore survival, maritime, medical and crisis-management training courses. Drilling and well-control courses will also be offered in the future.
Some 10 jobs have already been created at the 17,000 square-foot site and a further 10 are expected to follow in the next 12 months.
Duncan Bonner, managing director of Maersk Training UK, said: “We have built a first-class facility with brand new equipment and assembled a team of very experienced trainers and support staff. As a result, we are looking forward to providing a better learning experience to our corporate clients and to self-sponsored individuals.”
