Aberdeen-based designer and manufacturer of instrumentation, monitoring and control systems Electro-Flow Controls Group (EFC) has landed a deal worth more than £600,000.
Helix Well Ops (UK) has contracted EFC to design and supply riser-handling and additional storage capabilities for its Well Enhancer vessel.
The contract will be delivered by EFC Mechanical Handling Solutions.
Steve Nairn, Helix Well Ops regional vice-president, said: “With several new contract wins, our vessel is in high demand and we require an extremely fast turnaround on these upgrades.”
EFC managing director Bob Will said: “EFC is in a programme of rapid growth.”
The group, which has 64 staff and services the global oil and gas industry, has a design and manufacturing base in Houston. It also has business partners in Brazil and India plus staff in Singapore and Abu Dhabi.
At the end of last year, EFC was the subject of a £10million management buy-in.
The deal saw managing director and majority shareholder John Wheeler and sales director Ted Littlechild sell their stakes.
The new management team led by Mr Will is backed by Maven Capital Partners and private-equity fund Simmons Parallel Energy, with Clydesdale Bank providing banking services.
Mr Will’s mechanical-handling firm Celeris – also backed by Maven and Simmons – became part of the enlarged group.
