SCOTTISH comedian and television star Kevin Bridges will host an awards ceremony in Aberdeen recognising success in the oil and gas industry.
The Glaswegian comic, who has appeared on shows including Live at the Apollo and 8 out of 10 Cats, will present the Offshore Achievement Awards when they return next year.
The 25-year-old, who is due to appear at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre as part of his UK tour on October 9 and 10, 2012, hosts the awards at the Ardoe House Hotel on March 15.
Nominations have opened for the honours, which have a 25-year history but were not held this year.
The awards were previously organised by Scottish Enterprise, but are now arranged by the Aberdeen section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
Main sponsor is Taqa Bratani, with media sponsorship coming from the Press and Journal.
SPE member Ian Philips said: “Kevin is very much in demand and he will make sure the awards ceremony is a lively and fun affair.”
