Drilling and workover contractor Archer said yesterday it planned to add at least 40 people to its workforce after extending a North Sea contract with Shell.
The company, which has held the contract since 2004, will continue to provide drilling, maintenance and engineering services on the Nelson platform and four other installations in the Brent field until 2013.
Archer has over 180 people working on the platforms but said it now wanted to add to that.
