OIL and gas seismic survey specialist Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) said yesterday the 2010 North Sea season was firming up.
It said it had virtually all of the first half booked at acceptable margins and it would have six vessels operating in the North Sea this year.
PGS added that its order book at the end of 2009 stood at more than £280million, compared with £341million three months earlier.
Chief executive Jon Erik Reinhardsen said: “We are positioned to invest for profitable growth.
“We currently see increased interest in pre-funding commitments in the Gulf of Mexico and Europe, and an increase in bid activity.”
The Norwegian company reported pre-tax income of £146.22million for 2009 yesterday compared with £281million the year before. Revenue was £865.5million, down from £1.05billion in 2008.
