THE joint Subsea UK and Oil & Gas UK subsea seminar took place at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre last month, attracting almost 100 guests.
The seminar looked at subsea issues and the work programmes currently under way in the industry. Robin Davies, global vice-president, business improvement, at Subsea 7, opened the event with a keynote address highlighting both the opportunities for the subsea sector along with the important role it plays in the UK offshore oil and gas industry.
The four key areas covered by a range of speakers were subsea asset reliability, obsolescence and life extension; flexible pipe and riser integrity; subsea safety systems and standards; and challenges west of Shetland.
