ABERDEEN-BASED Axis Well Technology has announced a record first half.
The fast-growing independent well and petroleum-engineering support consultant also has plans to create more jobs.
Axis originally forecast 25% growth in turnover for 2010, which would equate to an annual sales figure of more than £13million, however, it is already on track to top this as demand surges for its services in the UK and abroad.
The company, which has already taken on 23 people so far this year, will be adding an additional 10, taking its headcount to 100.
This growth has also resulted in internal promotions across the company.
Managing director and owner Jim Anderson said: “This is the best start to a year we have had since we began nine years ago.
“We are going through a very exciting phase for the company, and our strategic investment in people through the tough trading conditions of 2009 is starting to pay dividends. Together with our proven track record of quality delivery, this has created an excellent platform for long-term, sustainable growth.
“We look to employ the best and make them better.
“This, coupled with cross-training our people to work across different disciplines, has allowed us to be flexible and adaptable to our clients’ needs.”
The company said it had secured several multi-year, multimillion-pound contracts this year for North Sea and overseas services.
Axis was shortlisted recently for the Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce’s Northern Star Business Awards in the medium-size company category.
Mr Anderson said: “This was the first time we have entered for these awards and we are delighted to have been selected as one of the three finalists in this category. This achievement has been a great boost for our team here at Axis and recognises everyone for their fantastic efforts and dedication over the years.”
